The article refers to the risks to tourism due to the intensification of the activities of international terrorists. The issue under investigation is especially relevant given that terrorists are increasingly choosing for their acts places of mass congestion that often coincide with tourist preferences. The methodology of research is used, combining philosophical and general scientific principles, which are the methodological principles of scientific research and include a number of laws and categories. The study used analytical, statistical, comparative–geographical, historical methods of investigation. It is established that the activity of terrorist activity intensified especially at the beginning of the 21st century, which is connected with the globalization of society and the rapid development of the means of communication. The geography of the committed terrorist acts in tourist centers over the recent period has been analyzed. Analysis of the geography of the terrorist attacks showed that at present they can occur anywhere and no one can completely guarantee their absence. It is confirmed that terrorist acts reduce the level of tourist flows in tourist centers, have a negative impact on the economy of the country affected by the terrorist attack. It is established that the process of restoring the former rates of tourism development depends on the degree of economic development of the state, the level of organization of security. It is found out that the tourist also underwent qualitative changes in the psychological plan, he became bolder and more confident. It is recommended to pay more attention to the safety of tourists, to conduct training work among them on life protection. Special attention should also be paid to preventing terror in tourist centers.
