Метаболический синдром у пациентов с синдромом поликистозных яичников в зависимости от генетического полиморфизма G2528С гена PPARA

Abstract

We investigated the associations of the polymorphism PPARA (rs4253778) with the polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) susceptibility and development of metabolic syndrome (MS) in PCOS patients. The main group included 115 women with PCOS and the control group included 100 healthy women. Molecular genetic research was performed using PCR-RFLP analysis. MS was present in 35.8% obese PCOS women against 4.8% of lean PCOS women. Allele C of PPARA gene demonstrates a significant increase of PCOS susceptibility and is associated with high waist circumference, waist/hip ratio and dyslipidemia. The polymorphism G2528C PPARA did not show a significant association with MS in PCOS patients.
