Abstract: Over the past 50 years since the description of the first cases of tick-borne encephalitis in the Gomel Region, the epidemiological situation has changed. The family-and-group disease rate with alimentary way of infection has been replaced with isolated cases with transmissible infection caused by direct stings by tick carriers. Hence, a new method of disease prevention is proposed, based on epidemiological evidence, by injecting lincomycine or similar antiviral preparations to persons who have been exposed to ticks.
