Abstract: The scavengers of superoxide radicals, nitro blue tetrazolium or adrenaline at final concentrations of 5*10- 3 —10- 2 M inhibit the activating function of streptokinase. The addition of the complexing agents (8-hydroxyquinoline, sodium diethyldithiocarbamate, o-phenanthroline and EDTA) to streptokinase solution changes its activating function depending on the type of the agent and the conformational state of the protein molecule. It is concluded that superoxide radicals participate in the activating function of streptokinase and metals with variable valence are present in its molecule.
