The widespread use of antibiotics has led to the emergence and rapid spread of resistance in microorganisms. Currently, more and more known and new strains of bacteria are becoming resistant to the drugs used. One of the poorly studied classes of compounds with potential antibacterial activity are derivatives of nucleic acid components: nucleosides, nucleotides, and their modified analogs. This study has revealed the effect of 6-thioguanine as an antimicrobial agent, and has shown that thiopurine derivative enhanced might be able to combat infections caused by some bacteria strains in the future.ru
