| Abstract: | Method of differential diagnosis of thyroid diseases by measuring thyroid peroxidase activity at pH 5.3 and 7.4 and catalase activity. In thyroid cancer cases, the ratio of enzyme activity at pH 5.3 to its activity at pH 7.4 is less than 8, and the ratio of thyroid peroxidase activity to catalase activity is more than 1.0. In thyroid benign diseases, the ratio of thyroid peroxidase activity at pH 5.3 to its activity at pH 7.4 is more than 9 and the ratio of thyroid peroxidase activity to catalase activity is less than 1.0. |
